@Chris Wright Others will comment with their direct PSA experiences. For the landscape of the most popular PSA systems, I would refer you to the PS tech stack report John Ragsdale publishes: https://www.tsia.com/resources/2019-professional-services-technology-stack

I would also point everyone to the TSIA Professional Services Technology survey: https://www.tsia.com/members/data/surveys-and-quick-polls/technology-stack-survey-for-professional-services
Members who complete the survey will receive the results within 24 hours, included the list of top installed PSA solutions.

We have recently begun to implement FinancialForce on the SalesForce platform - very good functionality, integration with Sales/Service Cloud and other apps on the platform (i.e. for quoting).....like all software, the stock code does not cover all business process scenarios so requires some reworking of business processes, thus far we have avoided customizations. As well, many of our businesses currently use Smartsheet until the corporate-wide platform is rolled out - very well received particularly around collaboration.

Similar to what John highlights in his benchmark reports, we see our clients leverage a broad array of PSA vendors. The ones we see most often are FinancialForce (especially if SFDC is CRM) and Netsuite OpenAir (especitally if Netsuite is your ERP). Have a couple of situations where they are implementing FinancialForce right now. Beyond that, there is a number of vendor solutions that are niche specific (Deltek, Unanet) and some up and coming ones - Kimble, Projector, etc.
