Certification and the Channel

For TSIA members: Do you require partners to obtain certification to qualify for your company’s channel partner program? And, if so, does the number of certified individuals and/or depth of certification vary by partner tier?

    From my experience I've seen these programs demanding the following requirements, to categorize partners in different tiers/groups (the higher the tier, better commercial conditions):

    • Number of certified employees;
    • Level of individual certifications.

    Some programs also require more investment, consolidated by an audit to check if everything has been done (e.g.: portfolio development, processes in place, etc.).

    Hi. Yes. I agree to @CarlosAlves . Probably to add: I can see a trend where Certification is a criteria, but also Badges, that are obtained in easier ways than Certification. They could represent additional skills besides the Certification, d.h. a product etc. It seems the combination of both are the future at the moment. But also as Carlos said the achievement of higher levels of certification.
